Lytx DriveCam is a video-based fleet risk management device which uses a combination of AI, G force and ADAS to capture instances of risky driving behaviours.

Once a risky event is detected, DriveCam records a short video clip (driver and road) which is reviewed and tagged with all risky behaviours (60+). The video and metadata are available on the DriveCam portal as part of the coaching workflow which is used to score the risk and improve the driver’s behaviour.

Optix, on the other hand, is a specialised sensor for detecting fatigue and distraction. Once detected, it then triggers the DriveCam to capture a video clip of this behaviour. DriveAlert also provides in-cab alerts (audible and seat vibration) to assist the driver to correct their behaviours in these situations.

DriveCam can be purchased as a standalone product, however DriveAlert is used as an accessory for DriveCam and therefore should be purchased together.

Yes – you need the subscription service. The DriveCam device captures video of risky situations and uploads these to the cloud portal with their corresponding analysis. You cannot access the video or data without a subscription to the online portal.

The setup and installation can be completed within a few days. 

However, getting your drivers on board is critical. For this reason, we take the extra time to provide driver awareness training so that the drivers understand the importance of what we’re trying to achieve. This results in better acceptance and faster adoption of safer driving practices, ultimately leading to a lower risk fleet.
